Not long ago, Apple was said to be preparing to launch AirPod Pro Lite in Q2 2020. However, the latest information revealed that the entry level device would be postponed.
Launching from Digitimes, Tuesday (2/18/2020), the production of new AirPods will experience a delay. Unfortunately, the delay report did not contain reasons for AirPods Pro Lite being postponed.
“Production of the entry-level version of AirPods Pro Lite, does not seem to be starting in the second quarter as originally planned,” said a report obtained from an Apple source.
If true, surely this is not a surprise. This is because Apple is experiencing a decline in revenue due to the Corona outbreak, in China. The incident was quite an impact for Apple.
The reason, several manufacturing plants in China had to be closed, so that there were delays in production which impacted the company’s revenue itself. In fact, now Apple is starting to worry that it will run out of iPhone suppliers.
Predictions of declining cellphone shipments have also been reported by IDC. According to IDC, cellphone shipments will decline by 30% in Q2 2020, compared to the same period. Meanwhile, Canalys said the smartphone industry in China will drop by 50% in the same period as last 2019.
